Season of Giving
For more than four decades, the Alameda Contra Costa (CA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has shown up for the youth and families of Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Season of Giving is our invitation to you to be part of that work.
This online campaign supports the programs our members deliver year-round STEAM education, scholarships, food assistance, health and wellness, and youth mentorship — in the schools and neighborhoods that need them most. Every dollar raised goes directly toward sustaining and expanding these initiatives.
Giving is simple: choose an amount, give once or monthly, and know exactly where your support lands. Whether you give $25 or $2,500, you are helping a student discover a new field, a family put a full meal on the table, or a young person walk into a classroom with a scholarship in hand.
Where Your Gift Goes
Our chapter delivers service through five program areas, each grounded in a needs assessment of the communities we serve.
Services to Youth. Our Reading Links to Living book club has met monthly at the East Oakland Youth Development Center for over 20 years, building a love of reading, writing, and public speaking among girls ages 8–12, with visits from local authors and field trips to Bay Area museums and libraries.
The Respect Yourself Symposium. Created in 1996 in response to rising gun violence in Oakland, RYS has grown into a nationally recognized annual event serving an average of 125 middle school students with hands-on STEAM and life-skills workshops — from robotics and brain anatomy to financial literacy, vision mapping, and DJing with math.
Food Insecurity Taskforce (FIT). Established in 2021, FIT has supplied groceries and food assistance to more than 200 Bay Area families, pairing non-perishable staples with gift cards for fresh items and sharing nutrition resources alongside every delivery.
Health and Human Services. Our annual Walk for Healthy Living has run for nearly 30 years, and our partnership with the National Dental Association brings a mobile dental clinic directly to students at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School.
The Arts and Global Awareness. Through after-school workshops, the biennial National Poster Arts competition, and country-focused geography and culture programming, we expand how our students see themselves and the world.
Scholarships. Each year we invest directly in local students pursuing higher education, removing financial barriers at the moment they matter most.
Our partners include Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, Saint Leo the Great School, the East Oakland Youth Development Center, and the Berkeley Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. To date, ACCL has contributed more than $250,000 to our community.
